I was born and raised in Chesapeake and still call Chesapeake my home. Having six sisters and being the second to youngest kid with no brothers, if I wanted to see my dad I had to goto work with him on nights and weekends as he worked side jobs to provide for his oversized family. It was with him that I learned how hard work paid off. He taught me to think five steps ahead and to always have the right tool for the job, which he never had but always made it work. At the early age of five years old I was “in charge of ground cleanup” on his roofing jobs and by the time I was eight or nine and until I was eighteen I was on the roof just about every weekend helping out however I could. Through the years he purchased and maintained his own rental properties which is where I learned some of the basics about home repair. In 2003, shorlty after I graduated high school, hurricane Isabel hit the Hampton Roads area and wrecked havoc on the roofs to many homes in the area. As unfortunate as it was, it was a major opportunity for me to start and grow my own business. During this time I repaired several roofs and one of the clients was a realtor and a property manager, who asked me to investigate all the properties he was overseeing. After getting all his properties roofs under control and earning his trust he called on me to repair just about all of his property management repairs. Through the years of working for him and other agents, I realized there was a real need for a real estate agent that had a deeper understanding of a house. Fast forward almost twenty years and he molded me into a property manager on a whole other level from the rest. I have a pretty good handle on all the issues that come up with maintaining a property and can diagnose most problems within a home with ease. Today I’m married and coming up on my ninth year anniversary soon to my wife who is a 6th grade school counselor. Together we have two kids, Rj(4) and Juliana(6). Yes I got a boy on the second try and yes he will manage the properties 35 years from now when I’m too old.…well maybe anyways. I can’t guarantee his future in real estate but I can guarantee that both my kids will be fixing stuff around the house. I enjoy roller skating and can be seen doing front flips from time to time at Greenbriar skating rink, which I also do a lot of the property maintenance work at. At one time I had national records for being the fastest speed skater in my age division, I’m not sure if it still stands but I’m still pretty fast! I also enjoy everything nature, especially riding my atv in the woods at the Hatfield & McCoy trails in Virginia and West Virginia. Since having my two kids my fun has shifted a fair amount but they are definitely the greatest thing that has ever happened to me and I really look forward to raising them in Hampton Roads.
